Top Ten Red Carpet Looks of 2011
Aa we ring in the new year, we should also celebrate the old so, I decided to make a list of my favorite red carpet gowns. I narrowed all of the red carpet looks of the year down to just my favorite ten. As I looked back to the 2011 Grammys, 2011 Academy Awards, and other red carpet events, I remembered how 2011 really was a great year for fashion. Please give me feedback and tell me whether you agree or disagree with my top ten list.
Number 10 goes to the young actress Hailee Steinfeld, who admirably not only dresses for her age, but also looks impeccable. In fact, this gown that she wore to the 2011 Academy Awards was a custom Marchesa that Steinfeld, herself, helped design.
Michelle Williams takes the next spot on the 2011 list in a vintage Chanel gown that she wore to the 2011 Academy Awards. While this dress shows no cleavage and no leg, Williams looks remarkably sexy.
Both this Prada gown and Nicole Kidman look simply elegant at the Golden Globes in 2011. This is one of the best looks for Kidman as she looks healthy, beautiful, and glowing and lands her at number 8 in my list.
Next, Reese Witherspoon, an actress that, in my eyes, can do no wrong, looks adorable in a black and white gown by Giorgio Armani Privé. Not only does her dress make Witherspoon look absolutely stunning, her accessories and chic hairstyle are what finish the look and make her my number 7.
Coming in at number 6, the upcoming star Jennifer Lawrence looks amazing in this, you guessed it, Calvin Klein number. The simplicity screams Calvin Klein but it also is a winner for Lawrence as it shows off her amazing body.
Scarlett Johanson, at number 5, looks spectacular at the Golden Globes in a more reserved look than you usually goes for, but of course, she still looks super hot.
Number 4 goes to Taylor Swift, because she really did wow the Met Gala with her maturity and taste.
Next, Emma Stone rocked a Calvin Klein dress like Jennifer Lawrence, but what makes her number 3 and not number 6 is that color. She looks flawless in nude at the Golden Globes and with her new blonde hair, couldn’t look better.
Cate Blanchet deserves the second spot because the dress she wore to the 2011 Academy Awards is both innovative and classic, something very rare to achieve.
Drumroll please… Mila Kunis, of course, deserves the number one spot in Elie Saab at the Oscars this past year. She couldn’t look better. Everything about the dress is perfection- the color, the shape, the fabric, and the list goes on. She manages to show skin and look sexy, while still looking sweet and feminine. This is, by far, the dress of the year for me.
